Dr. Courtenay Brines is a Connecticut native and spent much of her childhood enjoying the mountains of Western Massachusetts and Vermont. She received her undergraduate degree at the University of Vermont in 2007 prior to obtaining her Degree of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University in 2013. After veterinary school, she went on to complete her Masters Degree in Retinal Physiology, an ophthalmology internship at Louisiana State University in 2015, and a research fellowship at The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2016. Dr. Brines then went through a comparative ophthalmology residency at The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine and has been board certified since 2020.
She is interested in not only treating and caring for dogs and cats eye disease, but also horses with ocular disease.
