Kelly Wessberg
DVM, DACVIM (Cardiology)Veterinary Cardiologist
Dr. Kelly Wessberg was born and raised in Waukesha, Wisconsin. She attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison for both her undergraduate studies and veterinary school. Dr. Wessberg obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry in 1994 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Following veterinary school, Dr. Wessberg completed a one-year small animal internship at a private veterinary hospital in Mesa, Arizona. She then went on to complete a residency in cardiology at California Animal Hospital in Los Angeles, under the guidance of Dr. Stephen Ettinger. She obtained her board certification in the specialty of cardiology (ACVIM- Cardiology) in 2004. After her residency, she remained on staff at California Animal Hospital.
Dr. Wessberg moved back to the Midwest in 2005 to be closer to family and has practiced as a cardiologist in the Chicagoland area since that time. She joined Premier Veterinary Group in 2015, where she is currently employed as a staff cardiologist. Outside of work, Dr. Wessberg is a busy mom of three boys and three dogs. Prior to her college years, she had a horse and participated in hunter/jumper competitions throughout southeast Wisconsin.
